About
Toronto-born mezzo-soprano Diane Gorun is a versatile performer and passionate music educator. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (’24) from Western University, where she performed two full-length solo recitals and most recently appeared as Florence Pike in the university’s 2024 opera production of Albert Herring. Diane has performed across Canada in masterclasses, competitions, and staged productions, earning distinctions including first place in the North York Music Festival (Musical Theatre category) and multiple NATS competition placements.

Beyond classical performance, Diane is an active songwriter and band vocalist, bringing creativity and contemporary versatility to the stage. Her musical foundation began in the church choir under Eleanor Daley, and she continued private studies with Catherine Arcand-Pinette, later training with Bethany Hörst at Western.

She has further developed her artistry internationally through elite programs including the Guildhall School of Music Summer Intensive (London, UK) and the Ingenium Academy International Summer School for Music. Diane also holds RCM certifications in Voice (Grade 8) and Piano (Grade 7), and is a proud alumna of Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, where she starred in productions such as RENT and performed with the Canadian Children's Opera Company.
